Cream Of Wheat * 1/2 cup (4 oz.)
Sugar 1 cup
Milk (any kind) 1 1/2 cups
Ghee 1/2 cup
Saffron a pinch
Cardamom powder 1/4 tsp
Yellow Food Colour 1/8 tsp(optional)
Cashewnuts roasted in ghee (optional)
Procedure:
- In a sauce pan, fry the cream of wheat with 1/4 cup of ghee in medium heat till it turns light brown.
- Pour the cold milk in a square or round pyrex dish and add the sugar, saffron, food colour and half of the cardamom powder.
- Mix the fried suji slowly into it. Micro-wave for 3 mts.
- Stir well when you take it out.
- Repeat this 4-5 times (depending on the micro-wave) till it comes to a halwa stage.
- Stir in the rest of the ghee and cardamom before keeping it for the last time in the microwave. Add the cashews.
*Cream of wheat box that says `regular' works the best
